  • To reduce isolation and social exclusion

    37% of adults meet up with friends/family monthly or less.

    18% of adults speak to friends/family once a month or less.

    Significant numbers of the people lack social support in times of need.

    In terms of emotional support, 33% of adults say that they cannot rely on someone to offer advice about important life decisions. (PSE HK)

    60% of Hong Kong adults do not know where to seek help regarding mental health outside of hospitals.

  • To reduce stigma and provide accessible services

    At least 1 in 7 people in Hong Kong will experience a common mental disorder at any given time.

    61% of Hong Kong adults currently experience from low mental well-being.

    Of those people, 75% will not seek professional help. Many remain in isolation as a result of stigma, shame, lack of awareness about their condition, and a shortage of accessible professional support.

    55% have experienced stigma.

    Patients’ wait time to see a psychiatrist can be up to almost 2 years, and each appointment lasts on average only 6-8 minutes.

    Low-income families are often unable to afford unsubsidised health as the cost of private consultations ranges from $790 to $3,000. (Food and Health Bureau).

    目前,61% 的香港成年人心理健康狀況不佳。

    在這些人中,75%都不會尋求專業協助。 由於污名化、羞恥、對自身狀況缺乏認識以及缺乏專業支持,許多人仍然處於孤立狀態。
